What Is A Deep Cleaning?
If you’ve developed signs of periodontal (gum) disease, a regular cleaning may not be adequate. The first stage of periodontal disease, gingivitis, is usually corrected with a deep cleaning, also called scaling and root planing (SRP). This is a nonsurgical procedure done by our dental professionals to help eliminate gum disease by removing built-up tartar and plaque below the gumline. With specific instruments, a deep cleaning treatment cleans out the gum pockets, then smooths the surface of your teeth to avoid further buildup. What to Expect During A Deep Cleaning
SRP is a deep cleaning that may be performed in our office using local anesthesia on the areas of your mouth being addressed. We might also suggest sedation methods if you are feeling anxious about the deep cleaning treatment. Our dental experts at Kissable Dental will utilize a scaling tool to clean the tartar and plaque below the gumline. This was my first time to Kissable dental. A family member referred me. The experience was great! Booking an appointment was easily done through their website. I was able to communication via text to send my insurance card info. Once there, everyone was friendly! They explained the procedures thoroughly before starting. I needed a couple of fillings and some plaque removal. It took a little bit to get used to the contraption they put in my mouth…a tongue guard. The massaging chairs and the sunglasses helped to calm me down…I get nervous when there’s a drill in my mouth. I was done in an hour, cavities taken care of…plaque gone and next appointment has been set. If you have any hesitations about going to your dentist, ditch them and come here! They have a referral program where you can get points to apply toward other procedures if needed, which I thought was helpful. There’s also an option to leave a Google review and they’ll waive the copay for the time being. I waited to leave a review so I could be sure the work was solid and would last. It’s been a few weeks and my teeth still feel clean. I would recommend anyone try them out!
